Fall is finally here! Los Angeles may be known for having summer weather all year round, but there are a handful of fall activities in Los Angeles around your VIDA Studio City apartments for rent. Starting with where to see fall colors.
Fall Activities in Los Angeles: Where to Find Fall Foliage
Oak Glen
About an hour and a half away from your apartments for rent in Studio City is Oak Glen. Fall is a pretty big deal here. Oak Glen is also known as apple country, and upon arrival, you will be greeted with an array of bright colors. We suggest enjoying the fall foliage here while sipping on homemade apple cider from the local ranches.
The Malibu Creek State Park
The Santa Monica Mountains provide some of the best opportunities for local leaf-peeping, and at Malibu Creek Park, you’ll discover some lovely old-growth trees that turn all shades of fall as cooler air comes to town. This gorgeous spot is about 34 miles away from your apartments for rent in Studio City.

Descanso Gardens
Over in La Cañada, about 15 miles from your VIDA apartments for rent, is one of our favorite botanical gardens in Los Angeles. The Descanso Gardens are home to more than 600 varieties of camellia flower (best seen between February and May). But there is plenty to see during the fall months, October and November especially. Some of the other gardens in Los Angeles include the Huntington Library and the LA Arboretum. All three provide a sea of gold during autumn, but we are partial to Descanso.
Big Bear
Get ready to take a mini road trip because one of the best places to catch fall foliage is in the mountains. One of the closest mountainous areas is Big Bear, two hours away from your Studio City apartments for rent in Los Angeles. The lake is surrounded by trees, including evergreens, aspens, cottonwoods, and oaks. Keep in mind that the fall colors reach their peak from mid-October to early November. The best locations to see the beautiful fall colors in Big Bear are Mill Creek Road, the Pine Knot Trail, and Castle Rock Trail.

Similar to Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead is a beautiful area just a couple of hours outside of Los Angeles to enjoy the fall foliage. If you aren’t looking to travel far from your apartments for rent in Studio City, we suggest taking a walk in surrounding neighborhoods. That includes Sherman Oaks, Hancock Park, and Beverly Hills. These neighborhoods are between five to ten miles away and are great areas to enjoy fall colors.
