Where to go Hiking in Los Angeles
Temescal Canyon
First on our list is Temescal Canyon. This 2.8-mile hike near the Pacific Palisades is considered moderate and travels in a loop. Throughout this trail, you are accompanied by views of Malibu, the Santa Monica Mountains, and Downtown Los Angeles. On a clear day, you can even see the San Gabriel Mountains to Catalina! Before the hike starts, you will walk through a lovely park and dog-friendly picnic areas. So feel free to bring a small lunch to enjoy at a picnic table when you finish.
Rustic Canyon Loop Trail
Also in the Pacific Palisades is the Rustic Canyon Loop Trail. If you are looking for a challenge, this 4.5-mile trail is it. It also features a waterfall! It is worth noting that you will want to travel this trail clockwise up to the Inspiration Point Trail. The elevation starts immediately, and after the 2-mile mark, it’s all downhill.
